Aaahhh. This is your dead Christ, crossing the Rainbow Bridge, where he will wait for you to join him.
So WTF does "ne prikladi-vaytes" prohibit you from doing? "Do not kiss the icon"?
Prikladi is "the butt"*, so I am seriously worrying about how people behave in Ukrainian art galleries.
*No, I didn't know that, but Google Tanslator is my friend.
It could mean "no kissing" or maybe "no touch". It's from one of the churches near Independence Square in Kiev, I believe, and the picture is crappy in part because some other piece of churchy equipment was in the way.
There was lots of kissing of stuff in the catacombs with the dead guys, but alas, the corpses were not touched directly.
