The Thor/Manowar Connection

Black clouds on the horizon
Great thunder and burning rain
Her chariot pounding,
I heard the heavens scream her name

I watched as she shouted
To the giants that died that day
She held up her hammer high
And called to Odin for a sign

Gorin the mighty, Gorin the brave
Crush the infidels in your way
By your hammer let none be saved
Live to die on that final day
Gods, Monsters and Men
We'll die together in the end

Goddess of thunder, god of rain
Earth shaker who feels no pain
The powerhead of the Universe
Now send your never ending curse

Swing your hammer to crack the sky
Lift your cape so that you might fly
Back to Odin and the Gods on High
And leave this mortal world

If Gorin is the Goddess of Thunder (shiver me timbers),
Then J-Load is the goddess of

1) Donuts
2) Bad Grammar
3) ....

Sounds better in the original Old Norse.

Swinging a hammer is the only way she'll ever crack anything up.

Captcha: cations! Positively the purriest ions ever!

Tigris, I have some ideas on how she crack things sans a hammer.

They are illegal in 42 states, but they work.

Fuck Old Norse. No updates for centuries and the Norseworld Expo's been moved back THREE TIMES. Their respect is in runes.

So the language is stable, and hasn't needed updates or bug-patches since the release of Old Norse 2.1 back in 950, and you complain?

I also call your attention to the absence of glaring security issues and back-doors. Unlike other operating systems, you don't find Old Norse speakers getting carried away with irrational, viral enthusiasms until they destroy their entire economy, do you?

Fine, close your eyes and pretend that the OK you get after invoking r.GNR means everything's hunky dory.

Greenland? I guess it wasn't so much economic ruin as total death, though.

...And Iceland, c. 2009...

Also, the Norse settlers in Greenland didn't actually die out. Instead they crossed to North America and became the Nocohee tribe. That's what Capcha-word is telling me, anyway.

Hunky dory? That's a kind of fish, innit?

Do they still speak Old Norse in Iceland? Note to self: BUY KRONA

Oh Fuck! Not back to the Old Norse argument again? It's a never ending fucking saga.
Viking Butt Torture is Butt Torture it doesn't hurt less because the applier is using phonemes that are realized as voiced velar fricatives or not.

Apparently the pronounciation has changed slightly.

2000 slightly-used Danish Krona to the first person to write an obscene limerick involving 'Elder Edda', 'Nasty weather' and 'regions nether'.

Am I responsible for feeding all those crones if I win?

You want to keep on the right side of the Norns .
