iTunes is the Mac equivalent of Internet Explorer: you use it because it's already there and is okay.

Well individual entries are sorted by release date. It's just that the individual entires are then not correlated to each other.

Well sure, but if I listen to a bunch of news broadcasts the currency option is meaningful.

And Time sorting doesn't work.
